About the Company
The Foods of Athenry Ltd. operates a Gluten Free Bakery: the products produced include granola, muesli, crackers, crispbreads, Christmas puddings, fruit cakes, flapjacks, bars, scones, muffins and dry mixes. Wheat and spelt products are also produced in separate premises. The company currently supplies Dunnes Stores, Musgraves and exports to the United Kingdom (approximately 26% of sales). Export customers include Selfridges, Harrods and Waitrose.
In order to build sales, meet the demands of the market place and remain competitive, the company needs to develop and implement a formalised New Product Development System, which will be used to improve and expand their product range. The main objective is to develop new products for the private label gluten free sector and to extend the shelf life of a range of existing products and therefore enable export sales to the American Market.
