SELECT is a nine-month, part-time hybrid programme for ambitious social enterprise leaders who are seeking to grow their commercial trading and revenue. It blends flexibility with focus, allowing social enterprise leaders to develop their own leadership and capacity whilst juggling the demands of a busy social enterprise. Delivered primarily online, SELECT is structured around three core areas:

• Leadership and Commercialisation Curriculum
• Business Mentoring
• Executive Leadership Coaching

SELECT includes a seven-module curriculum which has been designed specifically to help social enterprises grow and scale their trading income.

Five modules will be delivered online as half day virtual workshops (via Microsoft Teams). Two modules will be delivered in-person at residentials across the island of Ireland.

Each participating enterprise will be entitled to receive up to five days [35 hours] of bespoke mentoring to explore commercial opportunities, including cross-border trade.

Areas for exploration in sessions with the business mentor will vary based on the needs of the participating social enterprise, but may include:

Scaling current trading and profitability Mentorship in investment or asset management New or addition product/service offerings Asset utilisation Membership/subscription modelling Strategic partnership/sponsorship relationship building

At the request of the participating social enterprise, up to one (1) day [7 hours] of their mentoring allocation may be used to conduct a strategic Board Skills Audit. This day may be used to assess the current skillset of the social enterprise’s board, identify areas of weakness and to develop a plan to address these areas.

By the end of the SELECT programme, each social enterprise will have developed a growth plan which can be used as a roadmap for the years ahead.

Each executive will be entitled to receive up to three (3) days [21 hours] of one-to-one coaching to improve their personal effectiveness and performance as part of the SELECT programme. The first of these meetings will be held in-person in a location agreed by the participating executive and their assigned coach.

For the purposes of succession planning, the executive may choose to be shadowed during sessions by another senior manager in their team.

Alternatively, up to 50% of the allocated time may be allocated to one (1) other senior leader in their organisation. Splitting of coaching time must be agreed with InterTradeIreland at the direct request of the participating social enterprise.

The programme is fully funded by InterTradeIreland, meaning there is no cost to participate. One residential will take place in, Northern Ireland and the other in Ireland, with accommodation for the first night and meals included.

In person sessions are provisionally scheduled for June and early December 2026. Final dates will be confirmed in due course.
