What is it?

The WeVenture programmes offer supportive, structured guidance to help women researchers explore and grow the commercial potential of their work.

Through expert-led training, tailored mentoring, engaging masterclass series', workshops and one-to-ones, as well as having access to a welcoming community of peers and partners, participants will build the skills, confidence and tools to turn research ideas into real‑world ventures.

Whether you’re curious, just getting started, or already further along, WeVenture is here to support you at every step.

WeVenture is part of the Shared Island Enterprise Scheme, funded by the Government of Ireland and developed by InterTradeIreland, Invest Northern Ireland and Enterprise Ireland.

WeVenture Supports

WeVenture is designed for women researchers and academics across all disciplines who want to explore how their work could create real‑world impact through commercialisation. Whether you’re just beginning to wonder about the possibilities or already taking steps towards a venture, you’ll find support that meets you where you are. There are three different strands to the programme.

Capability Building

The Capability Building strand of WeVenture is a series of masterclasses that define the core competences that will turn ideas into value through innovation and enterprise. The three programmes, Ideas and Opportunities, Resources and Into Action, will enhance participants’ professional development and progressively develop confidence, mindset and skills.

Within Capability Building, participants will have the opportunity to develop market awareness, entrepreneurial confidence and professional networks, preparing them to either apply learning within their academic roles or progress into structured ideation.
