What is it?

WeVenture: Into Action is a six-week masterclass series, empowering women researchers to move from ideas to implementation by actively initiating and driving value-creating projects.

The funded programme will be delivered via weekly online masterclasses, two and a half hours in duration.

Through the programme, you will build key competences: taking initiative to seize opportunities, planning and managing clear goals and priorities, making informed decisions in uncertain and dynamic contexts, collaborating effectively with others, and learning through hands-on experience. Designed to inspire purposeful action, this series supports you in transforming concepts into meaningful, sustainable outcomes with lasting impact.

Into Action is part of the wider WeVenture: Capability Building series, which also includes Ideas and Opportunities and Resources. Places are offered on a first-come, first-served basis and participants can complete the series in any order.

This programme is open to:

Any woman in research
Postgraduate Researcher: Master’s Doctoral Researcher, Postdoctoral Researcher, Research Fellow, Research Associate, Research Scientist, Senior Researcher, Principal Investigator, Lecturer, Assistant Professor, Senior Lecturer, Associate Professor, Professor, Research Director, Head of Research levels
From any sector or discipline
Affiliated with a regional college, research center, or university
Located on the island of Ireland

Applicants are expected to commit to full participation in programme activities over the duration of the programme.

Applicants may apply to one WeVenture programme at a time and should choose the option that best reflects their current needs and goals.

Places are awarded on a first-come, first-served basis. InterTradeIreland reserves the right to apply additional assessment criteria to the WeVenture Programme. Management decisions are final in these matters.

Applicants involved in activities associated with gambling, significant health risks, immoral activity, or any activity that could negatively impact the reputation of InterTradeIreland will not be supported.

Key Information

: WeVenture: Into Action will be delivered online, in five engaging two and a half hour Masterclasses, each running from 9.30am to 12pm GMT on the dates below. We ask that you check your schedule to commit to joining every session, so you can gain the full benefit of the experience.
Masterclass 01: Taking the Initiative, 12th January 2027
Masterclass 02: Planning and Management, 19th January 2027
Masterclass 03: Coping with Uncertainty, Ambiguity and Risk, 26th January 2027
Masterclass 04: Working with Others, 2nd February 2027
Masterclass 05: Learning through Experience, 9th February 2027

You’ll also receive a one-to-one off-boarding mentor session to guide you toward the right next stage supports and resources during w/c 15th February 2027.

Upon successful completion, you will receive a Certificate of Completion recognising your learning and 25 training hours as part of the WeVenture Learning Passport.
: There are 35 places available per cohort, which will be awarded on a first‑come, first‑served basis.

Once the cohort is full, eligible applicants will be added to the waitlist for the next programme within the WeVenture Capability Building strand.
: This programme is funded by the Government of Ireland’s Shared Island Enterprise Scheme, meaning there is no cost to participate.
