The Forum will take place on the 10th and 11th February 2016 in Croke Park.
With an agenda set to include over 60 national and global speakers across 8 conference streams, the two day Export Leadership Forum is set to be the largest European event to focus on all aspects of exporting.
Ireland is currently the fastest growing economy in the euro zone. In 2015, Ireland’s GDP is expected to grow over 5%. According to the Association's Chief Executive, Simon McKeever:“The Export Leadership Forum will play a critical role in not only supporting and growing the industry but solidifying Ireland’s position as a leading global player in export”.
Hugh Kelly, President of the IEA also commented that “exports have, and will continue to be vital to Ireland’s economic recovery and growth”. With regards to the Forum, Mr.Kelly stated,“it will feature many interesting case studies, stories of successes and failures, of challenges and solutions.”
Alongside the conference launch, the IEA have announced their first international exportleader who will present at the event. Kathryn L. Greaney, VP Global Trade Controls for The Boeing Company will discuss ‘future innovations within international trading routes and the impact of global trade controls on the export strategy.’
According to McKeever, “The Boeing Company is the world's largest aerospace organisation and leading manufacturer of commercial jetliners and defense, space and security systems. As the top U.S. exporter, the company supports customers in 150 countries, and we are delighted to have them on the agenda to share their in--depth knowledge with our market”.
The Export Leadership Forum ties directly with the mission of the IEA to support the growth and development of all exporters based in Ireland. The Irish Exporters Association is the only industry body in Ireland to work with both indigenous and multinational corporations of all sizes exporting out of Ireland.
Commenting on the agenda, the Associations’ President, Hugh Kelly added that ”In particular I’m excited to hear about how some of the organisations on the agenda have overcome obstacles in their path to export. It is these sessions that will be invaluable to our growth in the future”.
The Export Leadership Forum will cover 8 conference streams across the two day event, focusing on the biggest challenges exporters face in a globalised economy, as well as discussions on strategy and risk of exports. In addition, it will drilldown into key industry sectors such as life sciences, food and drink and the service economy.
