About the Company

Wakely Engineering Ltd, is a family owned and run business established in 1979 by Phelim and Sheila Wakely. The company manufactures a range of farm based grain mills, and are now a leading producer of high output Industrial Grain Crushing Mills for the home and export market. Company policy is to build machines to the highest possible engineering standards with a timely after sales service. Wakely Engineering has built a solid reputation among its Irish and UK customer base and is continually developing and innovating their machines. Phelim’s sons, Cian & Feilim Wakely have joined the team in recent years and have diversified the company into looking at opportunities in the recycling market. Wakely Engineering would like to develop an automated round baling and wrapping machine to bale waste materials from the recycling industry ie paper and plastics that have become unsuitable for recycling for reasons such as becoming wet or contaminated. This will allow them to be easily transported and used as a fuel source in industrial furnaces. The company will need to better understand hydraulics and PLC control to develop and manufacture the baler.
