With over twenty five years of domain expertise in developing and commercializing cutting edge solutions for pharma, biopharma, food and beverage and packaging technology sectors, Dr Richard Fernandes is proven senior leader in innovative, top tier, life science companies.
Dr Fernandes founded and built the multi-award-winning Irish biotechnology company, Luxcel biosciences Ltd., selling the company to NYSE listed Agilent Technologies, a Silicon-valley based global technology company, and going on to run a global bio-tech business for Agilent as GM.
Richard has faced many of the challenges that businesses using InterTradeIreland’s services have faced. He has a proven track record in raising finance from VC investors, strategic partners and both state and EU funded competitive grants, driving innovation and building intellectual property portfolios through internal R&D capabilities and by collaborating with globally recognised research institutions and market leading multi-nationals, building global sales and marketing channels, business to business and business to customer selling, strategic positioning and mergers and acquisitions.
Richard holds a 1st Class B.sc (Hons), MBA and a PhD in biochemistry.
