Overview
Seán is a highly motivated and results driven Chartered Engineer / Quantity Surveyor / Commercial Director / Party Representative and Adjudicator, with a proven ability to develop and strengthen management teams in order to maximise company profitability and efficiency with over 35 yrs experience in Civils & Building construction.
Seán joined the Construction Industry in 1989 as a Site Engineer. He progressed to Project Manager roles in Civils Projects before moving in a Commercial Management role in 2005, becoming Commercial Director in 2008, responsible for the commercial management of £250m of Civils & Building projects per year.
Seán set up SB Consultancy in 2017 to support SMEs in all areas of their businesses from processes and procedures to company structure and maximising recovery under their contracts and protecting themselves against main contractors when necessary.
Seán supports SMEs in the day-to-day commercial management of their projects. This starts at the beginning of a project with support in identifying target projects for tendering, producing and compiling tender submissions, negotiating terms & conditions to eliminate risk, as much as possible, and training on contract administration. Sometimes this might also involve escalating disputes to Mediation or Adjudication, which Seán also manages.
