Get Exporting eligibility

Find out if your business is eligible to receive support from our Get Exporting: Cross-Border programme.

Are You Eligible?

To be eligible for support under the Get Exporting: Cross-Border programme businesses must:

  • Be a business located in Ireland or Northern Ireland
  • Have fewer than 250 employees
  • Have the last full financial year turnover of more than £100,000/€116,200 and less than £40m/€46.5m
  • Have a minimum of 12 months trading history
  • Be in the manufacturing or tradable services sectors: By tradable services, InterTradeIreland requires the business service to be delivered in the cross-border market and not just to attract customers from the cross-border market to their service business in the home market.
  • Have a sufficiently unique product or service that does not displace existing products or services in the target market. In the event that applications exceed the number of available places on the programme, priority will be given to SMEs that clearly demonstrate a distinctive or unique offering in their application.
  • Have less than 7% of total sales in the cross-border market in the last 12 months OR have generated less than £10k or €10k from any export market in the last 12 months.
  • Can secure the commitment of your CEO or another senior manager to participate in all elements of the programme.

Please note: Ireland-based businesses are eligible for this InterTradeIreland programme only if they operate in the Food & Beverage sector. Ireland‑based businesses in other sectors may be eligible to receive support from Enterprise Ireland. Please visit Get Exporting | Enterprise Ireland.

In Northern Ireland the Get Exporting: Cross-Border programme is open to businesses across a wide range of sectors who are engaged in Manufacturing and/or Tradable Services.

In both jurisdictions, Sole Traders, Partnerships and Social Enterprises that satisfy the eligibility criteria are welcome to apply.

Admission to the Get Exporting: Cross-Border programme will be subject to budget considerations and funding availability. Where demand exceeds available resources, InterTradeIreland reserves the right to apply additional assessment criteria to the Get Exporting: Cross-Border programme. Management decisions are final in these matters.
