FREE InterTradeIreland funding advisory workshop coming to Cork

31 Jan 2018

The Funding Advisory Service Workshops are aimed at established businesses with a turnover in excess of €100,000 and which have been trading for at least 18 months, are free to attend but companies that are interested in attending are asked to register here as places are limited.

Run in association with InterTradeIreland’s delivery partner Grant Thornton, attendees will be provided with independent and objective advice and networking opportunities with funding providers. Participants will also learn about a variety of finance options including bank funding, Asset Financing, Asset Based Lending (ABL), Peer to Peer Lending (P2P), Private Equity Funding and Government backed loan funds.

With so many funding sources now on the market, these free regional workshops and advisory services aim to help local established businesses to explore all the finance options available and ultimately raise new funding as a direct result of participating in the programme. The workshops are supported by the Strategic Banking Corporation of Ireland (SBCI).

Gráinne Lennon, Operations Manager, InterTradeIreland said: “Our research shows that many SMEs have little knowledge of alternative types of finance outside of the traditional lenders. With limited resources, SMEs often struggle to find the time to research the options and to find the solution best suited to their business which leads to an over-reliance on short-term options that are often less economically advantageous and not viable for a sustained period. These workshops will provide attendees with an overview on potential suitable sources of finance for growth and the opportunity to engage with relevant finance providers, whilst also hearing directly from funding experts. Case studies will also be featured.”

In addition, twenty eligible companies will be given the opportunity to avail of a one-to-one advisory service this year. Each of the twenty companies will be appointed a dedicated corporate finance expert from Grant Thornton who will work with the company over a series of meetings with the objective of improving their fund-raising capacity to enable their businesses to grow.
