Brian Murphy

Brian Murphy is Chief Scientific Officer and Founder at Belfast-based Cumulus Neuroscience, and was the technical co-founder of Chinese FinTech start-up Qingniao. He is a Dublin native, studying Engineering at Queen’s Belfast, returning many years later to teach there at the Dept of Computer Science. He has been working in computational cognitive science since starting his PhD at Trinity College Dublin, and went on to train in AI with Tom Mitchell at the world’s first and leading department of Machine Learning, Carnegie Mellon University, in Pittsburgh.
