Liscarroll Engineering exemplifies the strength and resilience of a family-owned business that continues to innovate and expand its horizons. As they continue to trade across borders and serve a global clientele, Liscarroll Engineering is a strong example of Irish industrial excellence.

How Liscarroll Engineering have worked with InterTradeIreland

Liscarroll Engineering took part in a number of InterTradeIreland programmes, starting in 2020

We realised we needed to export to remain competitive. Logistically the Northern Ireland market was an easy option for us. New deals secured in Northern Ireland raised our profile in the UK dairy industry. InterTradeIreland can help businesses at each stage of their cross-border export journey and have been invaluable to us.

Acumen | 2021 - 2022

Speaking about Acumen Pádraig Lynch said: "We really felt as if we needed to get someone on the ground. Reached out to InterTradeIrelandand - within a week they had someone here in front of me filling out forms for the Acumen programme."

The people we met were fantastic, very, very easy to work with. Within a week of us making the initial contact there was someone inside our office, they helped us fill out the forms. Within two weeks we had an answer back as to whether we qualified or not. Then the process started of recruiting someone and then after that we were up and running cross-border trading, and the results then show for themselves.

Liscarroll estimate that before taking part in the Acumen programme their cross-border sales were less than 1 or 2% of their turnover. From 2022 to 2023 they were up to 12%, and now 16% of Liscarroll’s turnover is cross-border.

The programme has been an enabler for us here, enabling us to go to the North and grow naturally into the UK. We see that the future is much brighter.
