About the Company

BMI manufactures high quality vehicles & trailers for the Waste & Recycling Industry. The company also provides a number of other services, including power takeoff (PTO) installation, floor installation/replacement and body work. We also supply parts for the BMI range of vehicles and competitor vehicles BMI would like to implement and integrate a new robotic welding system into its manufacturing processes. This assistance can be accessed through the Fusion programme and will enable them to develop the new welding process in the most efficient and effective manner possible. The company had recently established that the development of critical knowledge in relation to welding parameters and specific weld characteristics needed are not within the Vendor/Supplier’s capabilities. The transition from manual to robotic is not simple and will present a number of key challenges which this FUSION project will address. The project will therefore deliver technical and knowledge transfer.
