Jim Dunne – iAcoustic Solutions
Jim Dunne is a seasoned audio and acoustics expert with over 30 years of experience. He holds an MSc in Applied Acoustics and diplomas in Acoustics & Noise Control. Jim began his career at Windmill Lane Recording Studios in Dublin as an Electronic Engineer. As Managing Director and Senior Acoustician at iAcoustics, Jim has made the company a premier acoustics consultancy in Ireland, serving industries such as architecture, construction, and broadcasting. He also developed the “Smart Studio,” a modular, cost-effective solution for professional audio studios, showcasing his commitment to innovative acoustic solutions.
Dr. Tara Brooks
Dr. Tara Brooks is a senior lecturer at Queen's University with 23 years of construction industry experience. She is the programme director for the MSc in BIM Project Management at Queen's. Tara qualified as a Chartered Architect at UCL in 2000 and worked in London for firms such as Foster and Partners as an Architect and later as an Associate. She moved to Belfast in 2010 and returned to education, completing an MSc and PhD at Queen's University Belfast. Tara has won several publication awards and was recently nominated for “Academic of the Year” at the 2024 KTP Awards.
Dr. Faris Elghaish
Dr. Faris Elghaish is a lecturer in digital construction at Queen's University Belfast, with over 10 years of experience in BIM. He is a Chartered Construction Manager (MCIOB) and a Fellow of the Higher Education Academy. Faris has published over 50 papers on digital engineering and construction in leading journals, including Automation in Construction. He has also co-led funded projects from Innovate UK, aiding in BIM adoption and emerging construction technologies.
