Brian Donaldson

Brian Donaldson, appointed in 2016, serves as the Chief Executive of The Maxol Group and formerly as its Chief Operating Officer. He has held many senior management roles in his 38 years with the privately-owned McMullan family business and played a pivotal part in the development of the group’s all-Ireland retail network of some 250 service stations. He is a former Chair of Plato Belfast, Co-Chair of Efficient Consumer Response Ireland, and a former Chairman of Retail Ireland. He is a director of the International Board of the National Association of Convenience Stores (NACS) and a director of the US Board of NACS. In 2024, Brian was the recipient of the NACS Industry European Leader of the Year award. He is a former Chair of Irish Petroleum Industry Association, is the current Chair of CBI NI and Chair of the CBI Northern Ireland Electric Vehicle Infrastructure Working Group. He received an honours degree in business studies at the University of Bradford.
