Overview

Gordon Gough is the former Chief Executive of Enterprise Northern Ireland, the membership organization for the local enterprise agency network. He is a Fellow of the Institute of Consulting and a past Chairman of the Northern Ireland branch. He has worked with SMEs for twenty-five years, coaching and mentoring for business growth and preparing them for tendering opportunities. Most of his work has been in Northern Ireland/Rep. of Ireland, but he has also worked on small business development projects in the EU, USA and Australia.

Gordon secured over £20m worth of SME contracts for Enterprise Northern Ireland via public sector procurement competitions and more recently he has brought this expertise to local SMEs. His approach includes, (i) Scoping out a tendering methodology with templates,(ii) analysing the Invitation to Tender documents and developing a matrix for inputting tender response information, (iii) advising on content and appropriate wording in the tender response, (iv) advising on pricing and undertaking financial modelling, (v) monitoring and responding to clarification questions (vi) overseeing the uploading of the tender on the eTenders NI portal and other tendering portals (vii) attending pre-award of contract meetings (if required) and advising on variations to contract on an ongoing basis.

Gordon brings value to all his clients and is focused on ensuring they score the highest possible marks in tendering competitions. He brings a wealth of expertise and contacts and is adept at walking clients through what can be a daunting public procurement landscape.

In addition to his work with businesses he is also a Governor of Southern Regional College and he is involved in charity work as Chairman of the charity, Brain Injury Matters NI and as a member of the BBC Children In Need Northern Ireland Committee.
