InterTradeIreland Award for Dublin based DAVRA

23 Oct 2015
The ‘Project Exemplar’ award recognises exceptionally high levels of innovation and collaboration between a firm, their graduate and an academic as part of the InterTradeIreland FUSION programme.

Davra Network provides a software platform for the ‘Internet of Things’ called RuBAN, which has the ability to harvest data from sensors. Once collected, this is then sent reliably to the cloud, where it can be stored long-term and made available for real-time reporting.

The FUSION project involved Davra partnering with Newry-based Southern Regional College’s School of Creative Design and Computing with the support of InterTradeIreland graduate Kestutis Kamantauskas. Kestutis was employed by Davra for the 18 month duration of the project, which was completed in March 2015.

Joe Quinn, from Davra, commented: “We are delighted that our innovation has been recognised and are proud to accept our InterTradeIreland Exemplar award. Our project has been both interesting and challenging at the same time and has had a huge impact on the company increasing staff by 13 and sales by €1.63m.’

Dianne Dundas, from InterTradeIreland, added: “Being selected for this award signifies that the FUSION project has been a great success for all parties. In this case the company developed a new module of RuBAN and increased profitability, the academic institute had a unique opportunity to become involved in a technologically advanced commercial project in the dynamic area of the ‘Internet of Things’ while the graduate has gained valuable experience and has had a major impact on the project. Congratulations to all of the team on its hard work and innovation throughout this project.”
