Davey Owens, MBA

With over 20 years’ experience in winning bids and leading teams, Davey is an experienced leader of complex and large-scale bid responses across the public sector and small to large enterprises. He has a proven track record of managing multi-disciplinary teams for technically demanding and operationally diverse bids.

He is exceptionally skilled at defining win strategies and reviewing bids to ensure consistency and relevance in achieving maximum bid scores. Davey has led multiple award-winning bids as Bid Director / Bid Manager with values ranging from - 500k to £100m across various sectors and winner of numerous Tech Excellence Awards.

Davey has extensive experience in bid management/bid consulting/bid mentoring; successfully managing bids with high contract values, complex teaming and subcontracting arrangements. He facilitates the development of winning strategies for complex bids through a mix of storyboarding, coaching and hands-on proposal development. Having gained both undergraduate and postgraduate diplomas in business, Davey has also graduated with a prize-winning First in Master of Business Administration (MBA). Davey is APMP-certified.

Mentoring Approach

Davey has extensive bid management consulting and mentoring experience. Gained throughout his 22 years as a senior bid management professional, corporate head of department, and as a bid consultant. Davey’s mentoring focuses primarily on a company’s tendering maturity level – an assessment of their tendering experience, system setup, and capability – which then determine the level of mentoring services required.
