Acumen: Apply for Funding

It is very straight forward to apply for Acumen funding - all we need you to do is to answer some simple questions and provide some basic information about your company.

1 Contact Us

Contact one of our Acumen Team by telephone 028 3083 4110 (048 from Ireland) or email trade@intertradeireland.com. They will ask you some questions about your business and discuss the potential support options that may be right for your business.

2 Complete a short business proposal

Once you have spoken to our advisors, they will ask you to complete a short Acumen Support Application form (below)

3 Approval & Assessment

Your proposal will be reviewed at a monthly Acumen meeting and if your application is approved you will be notified immediately.  If unsuccessful, please refer to our Appeals process.

4 Getting started

You will be assigned an InterTradeIreland Acumen consultant who is responsible for supporting you throughout the project.

5 Claims

Once you begin your project and the salesperson begins their role, you can claim financial assistance for eligible costs from InterTradeIreland each quarter in arrears.  These costs are outlined in more detail in our Support Options section.

Acumen Appeals Process

  1. Applicants will be notified of the InterTradeIreland Assessment Panel decision by email within five working days of the assessment meeting.
  2. If your application is unsuccessful, you may appeal the assessment panel decision – the appeal and related documentation must be submitted to InterTradeIreland by return email within ten working days of notification of the original panel decision.
  3. In your appeal, you must directly address the reasons why your application was rejected and provide information requested on any other issues identified by the assessment panel.
  4. The appeal will be considered at the next scheduled assessment panel meeting and applicants will be notified by email of the final decision within five working days of the assessment meeting.
